El Poquito

Groundswell Design Group’s recent collaboration with Jose’ Garces alum, George Atterbury, has brought us El Poquito – the recently opened Mexican Cantina in Chestnut Hill. For El Poquito’s first outpost on Germantown Ave in Chestnut Hill, Groundswell has created a contemporary interpretation of a cozy, familiar and festive neighborhood restaurant using its signature rustic, reclaimed materials design. Touches of Groundswell’s trademark esthetic at El Poquito are obvious inside and out. The festive cozy outdoor garden, dotted with lush plantings, rustic community tables and fire pits, invites patrons in colder weather and is certain to become a popular gathering spot in warmer weather. Inside El Poquito, Groundswell’s trademark design, which re-interprets antiques and reclaimed materials for new uses, is evident. Reclaimed barn wood floors, rustic booths and artesian chandeliers all come together to create a fresh industrial space that is warm and inviting while giving nod to the traditional Mexican cuisine served up by chef Andrew Sabin. Groundswell will continue to collaborate on designs for future El Poquito outposts that are planned for the Philadelphia region.
