Pearl Street (coming soon)

Groundswell and the Asian Arts Initiative collaborated to activate four blocks of Pearl Street, between 10th and Broad Streets in the North Chinatown/Callowhill Neighborhood. The proposed design incorporates a “painted river” and grass median, murals and sculptural arts, plantings, lighting and artistic bamboo canopies. These improvements are intended to create a sense of unity along the four blocks. Our goal is to generate a framework for future art initiatives to blossom and evolve within the neighborhood, creating an outdoor gallery and rotating art exhibit.
